The Pono Initiative is The Learning Observatory’s advocacy arm, dedicated to uplifting families and communities across Hawai‘i. Rooted in the value of pono—acting with fairness, balance, and integrity—the initiative works to ensure that every voice is heard and every community is supported. We focus on identifying barriers, amplifying community perspectives, and promoting policies and practices that strengthen wellbeing and opportunity. Through outreach, storytelling, and evidence-based advocacy, The Pono Initiative empowers families and communities to shape a more just and equitable future for Hawai‘i.
